ROSE + CLIVE

It’s good vibes only in Rose & Clive. With the Kombi parked out front the vibes start early. When you walk in the doors,
you are transported to a beachside holiday destination. The atmosphere is completely relaxed & the air is filled with fresh coffee and food.

Rose & Clive is named after Kate’s grandmother, Rose. Living for years around the corner, she rode her bicycle around
the Bayside area, where one day in the 40’s she met Clive. Homeless and hungry at Sandringham beach, Rose invited Clive to live in her garage. They kept each other company for many years, without Clive ever speaking a word.

If you look up and to the left, as you walk in the cafe, you can see Rose’s bicycle suspended from the ceiling. As you look around you will also see the abundance of art on the walls, drawn freehand by Txiki.

KATE & TXIKI

Meet Kate & Txiki artists & entrepreneurs.  Just over 10 years ago they started Coffee Caboose, an innovative idea to bring amazing coffee and cocktails to any event small or large.  Immediately, it was a hit and they were rushed off their feet with demand. People from corporations to weddings loved their creative coffee carts.

Txiki who is also well known artist ‘The everyday Dude’ was able to create fabulous branded coffee carts and more for events, Coffee Caboose became well known for creative brand activation.

Fast forward to the current day and the idea of hiring a coffee cart is common place.  But this dynamic duo haven’t stood still they are constantly evolving by always keeping their coffee carts unique and only serving the best. They have also opened a cafe, a place where coffee caboose lives & a place to feed their creative souls.  It’s beautiful with gorgeous white walls, Txiki’s hand painted illustrations and lush greenery everywhere.  Somehow Rose & Clive is so much more that just a cafe.  It is a place you go to that gives you an experience, the food they serve is always extraordinary.

THE FOOD

It is simple, honest and wholesome food at Rose & Clive. The fresh ingredients are the stars of the show, with subtle additions to enhance these flavours. With avocado on toast, but taken up a notch with pickled cucumber and lemon, parsley gremolata.

A vegan nacho bowl which is fresh and not heavy, with dehydrated corn sprinkled over the top of the corn chips.

But the one not to miss is the Tomaca. A traditional Spanish inspired dish, from Txiki, which has fresh char-grilled tomatoes, with mount zero olive oil and sea salt. Simple, yet unforgettable.
